In a recent poll by staffing conglomerate Kelly Services Canadian employees shared their belief of the importance of the manager/employee relationship at work. The Kelly Global Workforce Index (KGWI) report, published on September 13th, 2013 covered topics such as social media, employee engagement, and career development.
In a press release Kristin Supancich, Vice President and General Manager of Canadian Operations explained that “…employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers.”.
Results of the survey included that only 35% of Canadian workers feel totally committed to their current employers and the lack of “more interesting and challenging work” in corporate environments.

This seems to echo other surveys about employee engagement by other consulting companies. Now that we all agree, let’s press on to implementation and solving the issue.
